Professor Mobasher Monem is set to resign from his position as Chairman of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC). According to sources familiar with the matter, he is expected to submit his resignation letter today, August 18 (Tuesday).
When asked about the matter, Professor Mobasher Monem did not deny the possibility of his resignation. He said, “If it happens, you will know.”
Professor Mobasher Monem was appointed Chairman of the PSC in October 2024 during the tenure of the interim government.
Following the 2024 mass uprising and the formation of the interim government, the then PSC Chairman Md. Sohorab Hossain and 11 other PSC members resigned from their positions. Subsequently, the government appointed Professor Mobasher Monem, a professor in the Department of Public Administration at the University of Dhaka, as the Chairman of the PSC.
