16 August (Sunday): Trading on the country’s leading stock market, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), is underway with a positive trend in the price indices on the first working day of the week. In the first two hours of trading, turnover stood at Tk 558 crore.
The information was reported by sources at the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).
According to the data, as of 12:00 PM, the benchmark DSE index, or DSEX, had risen by 11.34 points to stand at 5,895 points. Among the other indices, the Shariah-based DSES index gained 3.02 points, while the DS30 index declined by 0.06 points, standing at 1,180.17 points and 2,192.66 points, respectively.
As of 12:00 PM, among the companies traded on the day, share prices increased for 171 companies, declined for 151 companies, while 65 companies remained unchanged.
