Trading at the country’s premier stock market, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), was underway with a positive trend in the price indices on Wednesday, August 19, the fourth trading day of the week. In the first two hours of trading, turnover stood at Tk 339 crore.

According to the data, as of 12:00 noon, the benchmark DSEX index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange had gained 16.66 points, standing at 5,790 points.
Among the other indices, the DSES Shariah Index rose by 3.72 points to 1,153.93 points, while the DS30 Index gained 2.79 points to reach 2,167.25 points.
By 12:00 noon, shares of 220 companies had advanced in price, while 97 companies declined and 75 companies remained unchanged.
